Aspen Ladd began her journey into combat sports around the teenager age. She was trained in boxing, kickboxing BJJ, and wrestling. She made her debut as an amateur at the age of 18 at WCFC with Jaimee Nievera. Ladd followed up to take down three opponents in a row at Ultimate Reno Combat. All of her opponents had been defeated in the first moment. Then she took on WCFC again and beat Leslie Rodriguez in a unanimous decision. Aspen took on Silvia Babaeghian, Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo ahead of a match against Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia had a superior record to Aspen as she beat her in a unanimously voted victory. Cynthia's amateur records were damaged. Ladd returned from her defeat in the final by beating Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, which brought her record to 8-1. Aspen became a professional in 2015. She signed up with Invicta FC and made her debut. Aspen fought Ana Carolina Vidal at Invicta FC 11, and defeated her in the first round to win a TKO. She won her next fight against Amanda Cooper via second-round armbar submission. She then moved to bantamweight to fight at Invicta FC 16. Aspen used her superior grappling skills to defeat McGill before ending her bout with third-round TKO(elbows as well as punches). Aspen later fought Jessica Hoy in Invicta FC 18 at weight of catchweight (138.1lb), as Ladd failed to meet weight. Despite this, Aspen was able to dominate Hoy. She won with a TKO after the second round. Invicta FC 21, she took her victory in the final bout of the promotion by unanimous decision. Aspen Ladd debuted in the UFC in the 118th UFC Fight Night 118, with a bout against Lina Langsberg. She dominated Lina and pounded her with a ground and pound for a second-round TKO victory. In her subsequent fight, she was able to defeat Tonya Evinger more convincingly. Ladd won over Evinger in just the first minute and received a bonus for her performance during the night. She fought her first big fight in The UFC Fight Night dos Anjos Avs. Lee rematch against Sijara Ebanks. The victory of Ladd was a unanimous decision, and her Fight of the Night award went to each fighter. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie broke Ladd's streak of winning within only 16 seconds. Following a brief break before returning to take on Yana Kunizkaya in UFC's ESPN 7 third-round fight. She fought Norma Dumont as a substitute for her fight last time with the UFC at UFC Fight Night 195. It was a unanimous decision in her favor.
